Hippolytushoef, abbreviated locally as Hippo, is a town in the western Netherlands, located in the municipality of Hollands Kroon, North Holland, 14 km east of Den Helder.

In 2001, the town of Hippolytushoef had 4217 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.95 km², and contained 1842 residences.[1] The wider statistical area of Hippolytushoef has a population of around 4610.[2]

Until 2012, Hippolytushoef was the main town of the former municipality of Wieringen that merged into Hollands Kroon.
