Hit-Girl is a creator-owned comic book sequel series to Kick-Ass: The Dave Lizewski Years, created by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita Jr. The series was published by Image Comics in 2018. The title, featuring a successive change of writers and artists for each four-issue story arc, follows Mindy McCready / Hit-Girl leaving America to carry on her fight for justice on a worldwide scale, depicting events mentioned in the epilogue of Book Four of The Dave Lizewski Years.[1][2]

Season One[]

The first series of Hit-Girl is retroactively referred to as Hit-Girl: Season One following the release of the second series, titled Hit-Girl: Season Two.

In Colombia[]

HIT-GIRL IS BACK. The pint-sized Punisher-meets-Polly-Pocket has left America behind and set off to serve justice around the world. First stop: Colombia. A mother seeking vengeance for the murder of her child enlists Hit-Girl to destroy his killer, but Mindy has bigger plans for Colombia's most feared hitman.

HIT-GIRL'S IN CANADA. Our adolescent assassin is locked, loaded, and ready to seriously mess up some Canadians. JEFF LEMIRE and EDUARDO RISSO take on MARK MILLAR'S psychotic, 12-year-old Hit-Girl for the next stop in her blood-soaked world tour. No amount of ice, snow, or Mounties will prevent Mindy from slaughtering her latest enemies.

In Rome[]

HIT-GIRL'S IN ROME. Mindy's racing around the Italian city, in hot pursuit of a cargo thief. When she finally gets hold of the stolen package—a bejewelled human skull—she uncovers a macabre story that leads her deep into the dark, criminal underbelly of Rome.

HIT-GIRL: THE GOLDEN RAGE OF HOLLYWOOD. The adolescent assassin tears Tinsel Town a new one when she realises her life's being dramatized for the silver screen. Hit-Girl storms sets, wages war on fat-cat movie bosses, and lures old enemies out of hiding in this kamikaze Californian bloodbath.

In February 2019, the series restarted under the title, Hit-Girl: Season 2. The first issue featured the Kevin Smith storyline spoken about when the first series was first announced.[3] The plot revolves around Hit-Girl's infamy having grown to legendary proportions thanks to a bestseller book, which is about to be adapted into a movie, prompting Hit-Girl to go to Hollywood and settle the matter her style. However, as she soon discovers, the movie is not going to be the only copy of her life's story.

In Hong Kong[]

HIT-GIRL’S IN HONG KONG. Her mission: to destroy a bloodthirsty gang that is responsible for drug trafficking, money laundering, and brutal massacres across Asia. Big Daddy had plans for taking down the Liu triad, but only Mindy can take these monsters out for good.

In India[]

HIT-GIRL IN INDIA. Mindy uncovers a criminal operation that mutilates children and forces them to beg in the streets.The local hijras become her allies, but also need her protection as they find themselves caught up in gang warfare. Time for Hit-Girl to track down the slave master they call the Beggarman, round up local gangsters, and serve her special kind fo justice. A new riot of color and bloodshed from your favourite tween superhero.

Kick-Ass vs. Hit-Girl[]

The first issue of , a five-issue crossover between Hit-Girl and the Kick-Ass incarnation of Patience Lee (written by Steve Niles, art by Marcelo Frusin) was published on November 11, 2020.[4][5] The series concluded with the release of the fifth issue on April 11, 2021.[6]

Critical reception[]

Hit-Girl was well-received fors its complex stories that deal with difficult subjects, something which reflected by the mature art style of every arc bar Hit-Girl In Hollywood, the first arc of Season Two of the series. Hit-Girl was called "visually stunning" by Darryll Robson of MonkeysFightingRobots.[7]
