Honducor is the mail service of Honduras. Honducor was created within legislation 120-93 in September 1993, and was implemented according to the regulations 004521-A. Honducor began its operations in Honduras in September 1993.
Honducor internal policies are subject by these policies established by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), The Americas Spain and Portugal Postal Union, and the Central American Postal Union Association (Including Dominican Republic). Under the secretary of labor, transportation and housing (SOPTRAVI for Spanish acronym) in Honduras.
Honducor is a decentralized mail service with over 205 offices across the country, is run within the public and private sector, funded by its own services and part funded by the state.
Honducor's Mission[]
- Provide postal service to Honduras on a national and international level.
- Obtain commercial contracts related to services and any other activity, aligned with social objective, without more limitations than these needed to keep service in the country.
- In general all operations that are complementary and permitted by law. Honducor has the venue without exclusivity, and is obligated to provide service in the country with administrative character postal service of the state to comply with international agreements. Honducor has a final objective to better its competitiveness and account with better technology, to offer new products and services, and continue to better the systems used, among others.
- To answer with competitiveness the postal service finds itself to the need of continued realignment in its mission and vision so that it can accommodate the changes needed to embark in new venues, lift the quality of service and to satisfy the social role that the state has assigned.
