HotNewHipHop is an online publication that covers daily news about hip hop and pop culture, including streetwear, sports, and sneakers.[1] In addition to its editorial content, HotNewHipHop.com produces video series such How to Roll,[2] On The Come Up,[3][4] In My Bag,[5][6] and Snack Review.[7] The site has been nominated multiple times on BET Hip Hop Awards for "The best Hip Platform."[8][9][10]

The website became known for covering the careers of artists such as Post Malone, Tyga, The Weeknd, and Wiz Khalifa.[11]

History[]

HotNewHipHop.com was launched in 2007 by Montreal-based Lebanese Armenian Saro Derbedrossian, also known as Saro D.[1] alongside DJ Rockstar.[12]

It began as a single webpage where users would visit to listen to daily releases of new hip hop songs.[13]

The website eventually went from being a single webpage into an online publication.[13]

HotNewHipHop also worked with Sprite on a video series titled "Thirst for Yours" in 2019.[14]

HotNewHipHop.com has about 20 employees between its locations in Montreal, Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles.[11] It has about 12 million unique visitors every month, most of whom come from the United States and Canada.

Throughout the years, HotNewHipHop.com has been nominated on multiple occasions for the BET Hip Hop Awards as "Best Hip Hop Online Site"[15][16] and "Best Hip Hop Platform."[8][17]
