The 12809/10 Howrah Junction–Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mail is a Mail train belonging to Indian Railways - South Eastern Railways that runs between Howrah Junction and Mumbai CSMT in India.
Initially it connected Howrah to Bombay via Asansol (East Indian Railway) & Nagpur (Bengal & Nagpur Railway) until completion.
It operates as train number 12810 from Howrah to Mumbai and as train number 12809 in the reverse direction.
Coaches[]
The 12809/10 Howrah–Mumbai Mail presently has 1 AC 1st Class, 2 AC 2 tier, 3 AC 3 tier, 13 sleeper class, 2 SLR (seating cum luggage rake) coaches and one pantry car. In addition it also carries a Railway Mail coach thus earning its mail title.
As with most train services in India, coach composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways depending on demand.

The 12809/10 Howrah–Mumbai Mail covers the distance of 1968 km in 33 h 15 min 12809 Mumbai–Howrah Mail (59.19 km/h) & in 33 h 10 min as 12810 Howrah–Mumbai Mail (59.34 km/h).
As the average speed of the train is above 55 km/h, as per Indian Railways rules, its fare includes a superfast surcharge.
Routeing[]
The 12809/10 Howrah–Mumbai Mail runs via Kharagpur Junction, Bilaspur Junction, Nagpur Junction, Bhusaval Junction, Manmad Junction, Kalyan Junction to Mumbai CSMT.
Traction[]
A Santragachi-based WAP-7 hauled the train from Howrah until Igatpuri handing over to a Kalyan-based WCAM-3 or WCAM-2/2P for the remainder of the journey.
With Central Railway having fully moved to AC traction, it is now end to end hauled by a Santragachi or Tatanagar-based WAP-7.

- 12810 Howrah–Mumbai Mail leaves Howrah on a daily basis at 19:50 hrs IST and reaches Mumbai CSMT at 05:25 hrs IST on the 3rd day.
- 12809 Mumbai–Howrah Mail leaves Mumbai CSMT on a daily basis at 20:35 hrs IST and reaches Howrah at 05:50 hrs IST on the 3rd day.
