Humberside County Council was the county council of the non-metropolitan county of Humberside in northern England.

History[]

The County Council came into its powers on 1 April 1974 and was abolished on 1 April 1996.^[1] The county council was based at County Hall in Beverley.^[2] It was replaced with four authorities: North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, Kingston upon Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.^[1]

Party control[]

Humberside was a non-metropolitan county governed by Humberside County Council and 9 non-metropolitan district councils. Elections to the county council took place every four years, with the first election taking place in 1973 and the final elections taking place in 1993. Following each election, the county council was controlled by the following parties:^[3]
