IFHT (I F*cking Hate That) Films are a Canadian-based internet comedy group specialising in YouTube music videos and spoofs. Originally founded by friends Matt Dennison and Jason Lucas in 2009, the pair created videos as a duo until joining forces, in 2016, with fellow Canadian filmmakers and Hoodwinked Films founders Mike Russell and David Wiggins, both having previously collaborated with IFHT as well as starred in many of their original shorts. The group are well known for the high production value across all of their content, some of their most notable videos being their "How To Be" series as well as many music videos and original comedy sketches.

Before IFHT[]

Prior to the founding of IFHT, friends Matt Dennison and Jason Lucas had been creating mountain biking videos since childhood, the pair both having shown a passion for filmmaking from a young age.

Matt Dennison[]

Dennison's passion for filmmaking started at a young age, making mountain biking videos. Like a samurai warrior, Dennison wields the lens like a mighty katana, eviscerating the competition with deadly discipline. The only thing Dennison does better than making films is busting gnarly tailwhips on his razor scooter.[1]

Jason Lucas[]

From writing, to producing, to acting, Lucas wears many hats at IFHT. His passion for creativity and the outdoors was spurred on at a young age through filming mountain biking. In 2017 Lucas gave up the corporate 9-5 life in order to join IFHT full time and make people laugh for a living. In his spare time you can find him out on his mountain bike or at a local microbrewery pretending he knows a lot about beer.[1]

David Wiggins[]

In high school a classmate once called him "the most distracting person I’ve ever met" and multiple teachers dubbed him "a classic underachiever." Little did they know he would go on to make dozens of people smirk on his rocket ride to the top after co-founding the YouTube channel Hoodwinked Films in 2010. Wiggins and his partner Mike Russell went on to create several successful videos in the years that followed. In 2016, after months of desperate pleads from Dennison and Lucas, Wiggins reluctantly decided to join IFHT, and he has been distracting the boys ever since – this time with his handsomeness.[1]

Mike Russell[]

According to Russell's mom, ever since he was very little, people would to come up to her and ask "What’s with this kid?". Russell likes to think that some of those people are still watching him on their computer screens today, saying the very same thing. Over the years, Russell's appetite for creative expression through comedy and music has manifested itself in many ways. Soon after co-founding Hoodwinked Films with Wiggins they connected with IFHT, collaborating on several videos and finally joining forces in 2016. When he is not writing, or on set, you can find Russell arguing with teenagers on internet hip-hop forums.[1]
