Iiris Suomela (born 1 May 1994) is a Finnish politician currently serving in the Parliament of Finland for the Green League at the Pirkanmaa constituency.[1] She is also a member of the Board of the student union of the University of Tampere.[2] Suomela was elected Member of Parliament in the 2019 parliamentary elections from the Pirkanmaa constituency with 4,873 votes.[3] In the same year, Suomela had also been candidates for the European Parliament elections but had not been elected.[4]

While the elected leader of the Green League, Maria Ohisalo, is on parental leave, Suomela is acting as leader of the party.[5] Suomela led the party into country's first county elections in January 2022, in which the Green League was among the biggest losers.[6]
