Insaan (transl. Human) is a 1982 Indian Hindi-language action drama film, produced by Ved Khanna Mukesh Movies and directed by Narendra Bedi. It stars Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Reena Roy and music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Kishore Jariwala, brother of Bollywood actor Sanjeev Kumar, plays the role of an ex-soldier. The movie was among the last movies of Vinod Khanna before he took a hiatus from the Hindi film industry to join Rajneeshpuram in Oregon, USA.

Plot[]

Shankar stays with his stepmother and three stepbrothers, but they are not very nice to him. After the death of his father, they get all the property and do not want to share it with Shankar. Later, Shankar marries Sona and works hard and earns money by farming. They have a child Munna. His brother loses all his money in gambling and becomes poor. The stepbrothers try to kill him with the help of Sheru so that they can take all the property that he has earned. Thinking that Shankar is dead, Sona tries to commit suicide. Ravi saves her and also protects her from her evil brothers-in-law. Later they get married. Months later, Shankar returns. But he feels that he is obliged to Ravi, so he doesn't meet Sona. Later Sona discovers that Shankar is alive and Ravi is killed by criminals, reuniting Shankar and Sona.

The music of the film is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, with the lyrics by Anand Bakshi. The film features the superhit song "Saathiya, Tu Mere Sapnon Ka Meet Hai", sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle.
