Inventions for Electric Guitar is the first solo studio album by electronic artist Manuel Göttsching. However, it was released with the subtitle Ash Ra Tempel VI, technically making it the sixth and final album under the Ash Ra Tempel name.[2] The album was written and performed entirely by Göttsching on electric guitar.

Quadraphonic recording[]

Some copies of this album indicate that it was encoded with the Stereo Quadraphonic, or "SQ" matrix system. This indicates that the album was mixed for 4 channel quadraphonic sound. Such quadraphonic recordings can still be heard in 4 channels today, assuming that the listener has the proper decoding hardware or software and multichannel playback system. It is likely that versions of this recording not marked with the SQ logo have retained the SQ encoding. SQ recordings are also compatible with standard 2 channel stereo playback systems.
