Iqbal Memorial Institute (IMI) is a school in Srinagar,[1][2] Jammu and Kashmir, India,[3] that educates children from Kindergarten to Upper Secondary (Year 12) level. The school is oriented to Islamic principles and is named after Allama Iqbal, a Kashmiri poet who inspired the Pakistan Movement. It was founded in 1981.[4][5]

Location[]

The school is located in the Bemina city of district Srinagar. Male and female students are educated in separate premises. The girls' wing is on the Budgam road, opposite ; the boys' wing is about 500 metres away at Sir Syed Abad Bemina, opposite Bemina Housing Colony.

Education[]

Most children are admitted to the school at Lower Kindergarten level, usually aged 3–4 years. A broad range of subjects is offered. The school is oriented to Islam, so students are taught to read and write Arabic, recite the Quran and to understand religious history.
