Irstead is a village in the English county of Norfolk, England. The village is situated at Irstead Shoals, on the River Ant just south of Barton Broad, the second largest of the Norfolk Broads. The village forms part of the civil parish of Barton Turf and the district of North Norfolk.[1]

The villages name means 'Mud place'.

Several of the village's buildings are reed-thatched, including in particular the very attractive St Michael's Church (right).
