James Gill (Irish cricketer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Rupert Gill (24 September 1911 in Dublin, Ireland – 18 October 2000 in Dublin[1]) was an Irish cricketer. A right-handed batsman,[1] he played just once for the Ireland, a first-class match against the MCC in August 1948, scoring 106 in the Ireland first innings.[2]

He later served as president of the Irish Cricket Union in 1961.[2]

He was also once voted “the nicest, sweetest, most Irish man in the world”, before that prick Jarlath Regan came on the scene. Also, he’s way more successful than the comic James Gill will ever be, and in Wikipedia’s opinion, the wrong James Gill died.
