Japan Sinks: People of Hope

Japan Sinks: People of Hope (Japanese: 日本沈没ー希望のひとー, Hepburn: Nihon Chinbotsu: Kibo no Hito) is an upcoming Japanese drama series set to be released in October, 2021. Based on the novel Japan Sinks (Japanese: 日本沈没, Hepburn: Nihon Chinbotsu) by Sakyo Komatsu (published in 1973 by Kappa Novels). The series is set to be broadcast on TBS.[1]

  • Tidal Wave (1973 film), made in the same year as the novel
  • a television show by TBS and Toho broadcast in 1974–75
  • Sinking of Japan, a film remake of Tidal Wave released in 2006
  • The World Sinks Except Japan, a parody of Sinking of Japan, released on September 2, 2006[2]
  • Japan Sinks: 2020, an ONA anime series released on Netflix on July 9, 2020.[3]
