Club career[]

FC Midtjylland[]

A central defender, Sery began his career with spells at CIK, KB, B93 and Lyngby,[4] before joining the academy at Superliga club FC Midtjylland in July 2015.[5] He progressed to sign a contract extension in January 2018 and was a part of the club's 2017–18 and 2018–19 U19 Ligaen-winning squads.[3][6][7][8][9] Sery was an unused substitute for the first team on one occasion during the 2018–19 season and signed a five-year professional contract in 2019.[10][11] He spent the 2019–20 season away on loan and returned to begin 2020–21 as a member of the first team squad.[12] Sery made 8 appearances during the 2020–21 season and scored one goal, in a 3–0 win over OB on 10 March 2021.[10] He departed the MCH Arena in July 2021.[13]

Brentford (loan)[]

On 21 June 2019,[14] Sery joined the B team at Championship club Brentford on loan for the duration of the 2019–20 season.[15][16] He was an unused substitute for the first team during a 1–0 FA Cup third round victory over Stoke City on 4 January 2020.[10]

SK Brann[]

On 24 July 2021, Sery moved to Norway to sign a 4+12-year contract with Eliteserien club SK Brann.[13] After making his debut eight days later with a start in a 3–0 Norwegian Cup second round win over Fana,[17] Sery missed five weeks due to requiring surgery for appendicitis.[18] He made 9 appearances and scored one goal during the remainder of the 2021 season,[17] which culminated in relegation after defeat in the 2021 Eliteserien relegation play-offs.[19]

International career[]

Sery has been capped by Denmark at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level.[20] On 19 November 2019, he made his U21 debut as a substitute for Victor Nelsson after 77 minutes of a 5–1 2021 UEFA European U21 Championship qualifying win over Malta.[20]

Personal life[]

Sery grew up in Herlev and is of Ivorian descent.[3][21] As a youth, he competed in track and field for Sparta.[22][23]
