Jeff Underhill

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeff Underhill (1927–1978)[1] was an Australian writer and journalist.

He was a regular writer on the Friday night edition of In Melbourne Tonight hosted by Noel Ferrier who wrote in his memoirs that Underhill "possessed one of the most original talents for script writing I have ever encountered and I was extraordinarily luck to have him on the team. He wrote the entire show - no small effort on a weekly basis."[2] Ferrier added "most of the new ideas in our shows came from Jeff Underhill's fertile mind. If he had ever made what, for creative people, is the mandatory trip to London or the United States I am sure he would have achieved a most successful international career."[3] Ferrier says the show ended when Underhill left the show. "He had vritually written himself out."[4]
