Jeremiah's Vanishing New York

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeremiah's Vanishing New York is a blog established in 2008[1] reviewing historically significant locations in New York City that are likely to not exist in the near future. Its reviews are published by blogger Jeremiah Moss.[1]

The website was started after a failed attempt to save , a Times Square coffeehouse well-liked by locals as a community meeting place. In response, Moss began a "Save NYC" campaign to increase awareness of the harms of gentrification.[2]

A reviewer from the NY Post described the blog as describing "old-school businesses in danger of being snuffed out by changing times."[3]

In 2017 Moss released a comprehensive book under William Morrow's Dey St.'s imprint entitled Vanishing New York: How a Great City Lost Its Soul.[4]
