Joseph Richardson (birth registered July→September 1879[1] – 19 November 1904[2]) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1900s. He played at representative level for , and at club level for Runcorn RFC, as a stand-off, or scrum-half, i.e. number 6, or, 7, he was taken ill while travelling by train to play Hull F.C. at The Boulevard, Kingston upon Hull on Saturday 5 November 1904, and died 2-weeks later from pleurisy, and pneumonia.[3]
