John Gould Cotton (born 1951) is a retired vice admiral in the United States Navy. He was Chief of the United States Navy Reserve from October 2003 until July 2008.[1][2] He is currently a member of the Defense Department's Reserve Forces Policy Board.[3]

Cotton has endorsed the false[4][5][6][7] conspiracy theory that the 2020 presidential election was rigged to favor Joe Biden and claims that the United States "has taken a hard left turn toward Socialism and a Marxist form of tyrannical government."[8][9]
