John T. Gunnell (1836 – June 26, 1902[1]) was a state legislator in Colorado. He served in the Colorado House of Representatives in 1881, and was the first African American to serve in the Colorado Legislature.[2][3][4] He chaired the committee on federal relations.[5] He represented Arapahoe County, Colorado.[6]
He is listed in an 1876 Arapahoe County city directory.[7]
