John Taylor (Mississippi judge)
John Taylor (died 1821) was a Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi from 1818 to 1820.
John Taylor, Born in Pennsylvania, Taylor "came early to Mississippi", where he "was a member of the territorial legislature, and of the convention which organized the State".[1] The judges appointed in 1818 to the supreme court under the first constitution were Taylor, , C. J., W. B. Shields, Powhatan Ellis, and .
Taylor "retired from the bench in 1820". One source states that he "was a lawyer of ability, and was held in high esteem as a judge".[1]
