José Couto (born 27 February 1978) is a breaststroke swimmer from Portugal, who represented his home country at the 1996 Summer Olympics, the 2000 Summer Olympics and at the 2004 Summer Olympics.[1] He won two medals, a silver and a bronze, at the 1999 European Short Course Championships that occurred in Lisbon and one silver medal at the 2002 FINA World Swimming Championships in Moscow. He also won a gold medal, a silver medal and a bronze medal in World Cups.[citation needed]
