Josef Hones (born 6 March 1954) is an Austrian ski mountaineer, former biathlete and mountain runner.
Hones participated in the 1976 Winter Olympics and finished 15th in the 4 × 7.5 kilometres relay event, together with Franz-Josef Weber, Alfred Eder and Klaus Farbmacher.[1] In 1978 he won the Trofeo Mezzalama ski mountaineering competition in the civilian teams category, together with and Karl Sinzinger.[2] He participates also in mountain running events, and won the Kainach mountain marathon in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1993.[3]
