Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association
The Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association (JAHSA) is a nonprofit organization in the United States that promotes health and safety in the mining industry.[1] It was founded in 1916 as a tribute to its namesake, Joseph Austin Holmes. Membership is non-partisan and consists of representatives from labor, federal government, state government and institutions, mine management, and industry vendors. The association has annual meetings in locations that rotate among regional areas in the U.S. and publishes the Holmes Safety Association Bulletin.
