The Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal covering research in the field of surgery and is the official scientific journal of the American College of Surgeons. The journal publishes original research and clinical studies, review articles, and experimental investigations with clear clinical relevance.[1] The editor-in-chief is .[2] It has been published continuously since 1905 and was first titled Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics (SG&O) .[3]
In 2015, JACS achieved an impact factor of 5.122, its highest to date.[4]
