Juan de la Cruz was a Danish actor and singer of Spanish descent who appeared in Hollywood films from the 1910s through the 1950s.[1]
Biography[]
Juan was born in Copenhagen to Alexander Philomeno de la Cruz de Morety and Marie Grishauge Jepson. He attended Copenhagen College and then studied music at the Royal Opera House.[2][3]
Originally a singer and stage actor in his native Copenhagen, de la Cruz moved to Hollywood around 1912.[4] He was reportedly of noble descent, and was referred to in books published at the time as Count de Morety.[1]
