June Melville (1915 - 1970) was an English actress and theater manager. She was born on September 17, 1915, in Worthing, Sussex, England. She was the daughter of Frederick Melville[1] and Jane Melville; née Eyre. Her stage debut came in the 1931 production of Puss in Boots in Brixton. In 1936, she became the stage manager, and in 1938, the owner and manager of the Brixton Theater. Subsequently, she became the director of Watford Palace Theatre. On 18 April 1940, she married John Le Mesurier,[1] and later divorced in 1949. June Melville died on September 15, 1970, in Westminster, London, England.[2]
