KPRP (650 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Honolulu, Hawaii. Although owned by SummitMedia, LLC, the station was operated by Pinoy Power Media and offered a Filipino language radio format. KPRP is currently silent.
History[]
Prior to its switch to Filipino programming, the station was known as KORL then KRTR and had offered a succession of formats, such as Top 40, Talk radio, Middle of the Road (MOR), and Beautiful Music during its tenure. In 2010, KRTR added the nighttime program "Delilah" to its schedule after it was dropped by Soft Adult Contemporary 94.7 KUMU-FM.
On October 4, 2013, Pinoy Power Media began programming the station under an agreement with SummitMedia, Inc. KPRP aired Filipino language programming as "Pinoy Power KPRP AM 650". The call sign was changed that same day to KPRP.
In early 2021, KPRP went dark.
