Kal Manja is a 2011 India Kannada film starring Komal Kumar and Udhayathara in the lead roles alongside Aishwarya Nag. The film is a remake of the Malayalam hit Chathikkatha Chanthu. The film has been directed and written by Ramesh Prabhakaran and produced by Komal's wife Anasuya under his home banner. Emil Mohammed has composed the music.[1]

The story revolves around a film unit which help the two estranged lovers unite.[citation needed]

Critical reception[]

Upon its release, Kal Manja received mixed reviews from film critics. Shruti Indira Lakshminarayana of Rediff gave the film three out of five star rating and called the film a laugh riot. The dialogues were praised too.[2] Supergoodmovies gave the film a rating of 3/5 and gave an average review appreciating the performance of the actors and criticizing the role of the technical department.[3] Nowrunning, which gave the film two and a half out of five star rating said, "(the film) starts off in a disastrous fashion but salvages itself after 40 minutes of a dragging narration. It then picks up its tempo and goes on to keep the audience on tenter hooks" and concluded saying, "Kal Manja is an enjoyable film though it starts off at a weak note."[4]
