Karen Knox

Karen Knox is a Canadian actor, writer, director, and producer based in Toronto.[1] Her notable roles include Holly Frost in Syfy's Letters to Satan Claus,[2] Veronica Vale in KindaTV's Barbelle,[3] and Boris in OutTV's Slo Pitch.[4]

Early life[]

Karen Knox was born and raised in Orangeville, Ontario. She moved to Toronto to pursue a career in acting.[5] Knox is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[5]

Career[]

As an actor, Knox has had roles in Frankie Drake Mysteries, Save Me, and Murdoch Mysteries.[1] Knox voices the character Shaid in Ubisoft's Starlink: Battle for Atlas.[1][6] In 2015, Knox appeared in the world premiere of the John Patrick Shanley play, A Woman is a Secret.[7]

As a writer, Knox has worked on KindaTV's Barbelle,[3] OutTV's Slo Pitch,[4] and CBC's For The Record. Knox co-created Barbelle with Gwenlyn Cumyn and co-created Slo Pitch with Cumyn and cinematographer J Stevens.[8] Knox co-wrote and starred in the short film Cons & Pros, alongside Cumyn again, which debuted on Vice in January 2020.[9]

Produced and directed by Knox, her short film Case of the Massey Bodice Ripping was screened at the Canadian Film Festival in 2019.[10][11]

Knox's feature film directorial debut Adult Adoption (written by and starring Ellie Moon) completed production in early 2021 and was acquired for distribution by levelFILM.[12]
