Kennedy Yanko

Kennedy Yanko (born 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri)[1][2] is an American sculptor, painter, and installation artist working in found metal and paint skin.[3] Her work reflects a surrealist approach.[3] She has been working with found metal since apprenticing in an iron-working factory in 2016 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where her studio is located. She collects her scrap metals from junk yards around the East Coast.[4]

In 2019, Yanko installed her first public sculpture, titled 3 WAYS, as part of the Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition,[6] funded by the Helis Foundation, in New Orleans.[7]
