Kildare Town Community School

Kildare Town Community School is a school in County Kildare, Ireland. It was formed in September 2011 following the amalgamation of St. Josephs Academy, Presentation Secondary School and Kildare Vocational School. The new school is under the patronage of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, and Kildare Vocational Education Committee. The school was officially opened by the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny.[1][2][3][4]

There are currently[when?] over 700 students attending the school.[5]

Facilities[]

Facilities include a gymnasium, basketball and tennis courts, an all-weather football pitch, several computer rooms, science laboratories, woodwork and metalwork rooms, a library and a canteen. The school allows students to participate in Transition Year, though this is not mandatory.[citation needed]

Sports[]

The school offers a variety of sports including athletics, basketball, equestrian, Gaelic games, soccer and spikeball. The students can also use the exercise machines in the gym during physical education classes.
