Majority of the population in the town basically belong to settled migrants from Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. This area is a good source of income for the businessmen, that is the reason many people come here to raise their economic status by involving themselves in mining corporates. The town is a dusty area as different types of mining activities are being done over here. But many precautions have been taken to reduce and to eradicate dust from this area by the Mining corporations and the local authorities.
