Komorowo [kɔmɔˈrɔvɔ] (German: Kamerau, 1938 - 1945 Großmuckenhausen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Janowo, within the Nidzica County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) to the East of Nidzica and 53 km (33 mi) south of the regional capital Olsztyn.
The village has a population of 250.
From 1918 to 1939 Janowo was a border village of Germany (East Prussia), as well as a border village of German Empire before 1914. Before 1914 the bridge on the Orzyc River was the border between Germany and the Russian Empire, and from 1918 to 1939 Germany and Poland. Janowo was the village on the Russian/Polish side.
