The Korea International Broadcasting Foundation (KIBF; Korean: 한국국제방송교류재단) is a South Korean non-profit group media broadcasting network provider. According to itself the company's main focus is to produce 24/7 news services to improve the international image of South Korea.[1]

It competes with KBS World, which is owned by the state-owned KBS, as they both target the international public. The channels have seemingly at least some overlapping, and the need of KIBF as a PR company has come into question.[2]

History[]

The company was founded on April 10, 1996. The domestic broadcasting was launched next year.[1]

In 1999, it began broadcasting TV to the rest of the world.

It provides multi-language subtitle (Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese) service. 2003 saw the launch of Arirang Radio, an English language FM radio broadcasting in South Korea.

In 2004, its Arabic TV service, Arirang Arab, began.

In 2015, Arirang advanced into UN In-house network, and started UN channel.
