Owners[]

Arkady Rotenberg, sole owner of Krasny Kvadrat (since June 2015)

From July 24, 2007 to April 3, 2014, the sole owner of Krasny Kvadrat was its president and founder Larisa Sinelshchikova.

On April 3, 2014 Sinelshchikova sold 51 percent share in Krasny Kvadrat LLC, Mandarin LLC, Granat LLC and Izyum LLC to Russian tycoon Arkady Rotenberg.[8][9]

Leading American magazine focusing on film industry, television, and entertainment industries The Hollywood Reporter described the deal as a "sale of a controlling stake in Russia's biggest TV content producer".[10]

According to official representative of Rotenberg Andrey Baturin, "the decision to acquire a controlling stake in Krasny Kvadrat was motivated by a clear understanding of the growing importance of the content for modern media and, of course, the need to prioritize the first and best".[11][12]

In June 2015 Sinelshchikova sold the remaining 49 percent share to Rotenberg.[13]

The tycoon became the sole owner of Krasny Kvadrat.

The head office of Krasny Kvadrat from the date of its establishment up to the present time is located in Ostankino Technical Center in Moscow, Russian Federation.[14]

Interesting Facts[]

Krasny Kvadrat was named after the same-name picture by artist Kazimir Malevich painted in 1915. The company's logo is a stylized image of a red quadrangle on a white background, resembling a square in shape but differing in form by its elevated top side.

In autumn 2015 the two-story office of Krasny Kvadrat in Ostankino Technical Center was completely renovated and turned to a modern space for creativity and comfortable work.

The author of the new design is MAD Architects architecture firm. According to its CEO Maria Nikolaeva, "the impossibility to make drastic changes in the layout and facades of the building, the need to preserve the existing office system, the inviolability of ceiling communications and some other technical aspects did not become an obstacle for the architects. We took up the challenge and found original structural solutions, which allowed us to create an interior that fully corresponds to the spirit of the company."

As a result, long corridors and offices with typical finishing of the Soviet period turned to a laconic and modern design office, in the design of which a variety of textures were used - open masonry, concrete, painted surfaces and tile carpeting.

At the same time white coloring with red chairs and other elements highlight the name of the company.[15]
