Kuzey Güney (transl. North South) is a Turkish television drama series. The scenarists are Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu. The series stars Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ as Kuzey Tekinoğlu, a tough and rebellious son of an Istanbul baker, who comes back from prison four years after he confesses to a crime his brother, Güney, (Buğra Gülsoy) committed.

The series was broadcast on channel Kanal D in Turkey and produced by Ay Yapım.[1] It premiered on September 7, 2011.[2] Kuzey Güney aired on Wednesday at 8 pm (EEST, UTC+03:00) on Kanal D and from episode 61 onwards at 10 pm (EEST). The final episode was aired on June 26, 2013, after 80 episodes and 2 seasons.

Plot[]

Kuzey (Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ) and Güney (Buğra Gülsoy) are brothers with vastly different personalities. While Kuzey is bold, fearless and spontaneous, while Güney is the opposite of Kuzey. The rivalry between the two brothers reaches a boiling point when Kuzey decides to reveal his feelings about a girl Cemre, who unbeknownst to him is in a relationship with Güney. Heartbroken and enraged to see this, he comes home rather late and gets beaten up by his dad, Sami who also beats his mother, Handan trying to intervene and stop him. Seeing this, Kuzey hits his father and goes to drink alcohol first time in his life to forget everything and to stop his hurt feelings, Güney came to took him to home, after watching Güney, Kuzey leave, while Güney stopped him by saying that he should not drive in drunken condition, in car they both fight and by accident Güney hit their neighbor's son after which Kuzey takes blame on him after he was blamed by his mother for destroying the life of her dearest son, in jail he was highly fed up by prisoner Ferhat, he also attack him by knife. After, 4 years of prison, he was released, Sami on the other hand feel bad for Kuzey, and starts connected more to Kuzey, and Güney feel jealous.

Kuzey now understand that he is the only one who loss everything in his family, he applied for military (his biggest dream) exam but was rejected after which he spend more time with his best friend Ali Guntan to which he calls 'kardeş (brother)', (who was later killed by Ferhat for taking his revenge Kuzey goes to Germany, where he meets Şeref), on the other hand Güney is engaged with Cemre, later on, Banu, the daughter of a rich business man fell in love with Güney, she has a mental issue. for the sake of money, he left Cemre and engaged with her, However he tries to take Cemre away from Kuzey, he always falsely claim that he left Cemre for his brother Kuzey, Cemre started developing love interest on Kuzey, but Kuzey ignores her for the sake of his brother, later on Banu finds out that Güney cheats her with business-women Melda Yalgin, and she kicks out Güney and his mother from their mansion. later, one day Güney was drunken and doing cheap discussion regarding Kuzey and Cemre to his mother, in Kuzey's rent house, to which angry Kuzey beats Güney, then he goes to propose Cemre, second time.

This series was also telecast in Albania on Televizioni Klan and was being broadcast on Bosnian O Kanal. in Pakistan, it was broadcast on Urdu 1 with great TRPs in Urdu dubbed and was being broadcast on Iranian television channel GEM TV dubbed in Persian language under the same name. In Indian Zindagi TV it was dubbed in Hindi.
