Kvam, Innlandet
Kvam is a village in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, situated along the Gudbrandsdalslågen (or the Lågen) river. The village lies in Nord-Fron municipality, Innlandet County, Norway. During the military campaign in Norway in 1940, Kvam was the scene of a battle between German and British forces. During the battle, the original Kvam church dating to 1776 was destroyed by the Germans. In 1952, the current Kvam Church was constructed.[1]
Kvam has a British military cemetery and its own railway station. Its population was 832 in 2006.
The village experienced devastating floods in 2011 and 2013.[2]
