Las Varas is located in the state of Nayarit, Mexico, just a few miles southeast from Zacualpan and west Compostela. It is near the beaches of Chacala, Chacalilla, , Los Ayala, Rincón de Guayabitos, La Peñita de Jaltemba, , and San Francisco.
