Lawrence Hamilton

Professor Lawrence Hamilton is the SARChI/Newton Research Chair in Political Theory. With this Bilateral Chair, he teaches at Department of Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and the Department of Political and International Studies at the University of Cambridge.[1]

Hamilton was born in 1972, in Durban, South Africa. After graduating from Michaelhouse, he successively received the bachelors, masters and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.[citation needed]

As a political theorist, Hamilton has published books and articles on contemporary political philosophy and on South African politics. His key publications include:
