LeGrand R. Curtis Jr.

LeGrand R. Curtis Jr. (born 1 August 1952) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2011. He has been the Church Historian and Recorder since 2019.

Curtis was born in Ogden, Utah. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

In the LDS Church, Curtis has served as a full-time missionary (in Italy), bishop, high councilor, counselor in a stake presidency, stake president, president of the Italy Padova Mission (1998 to 2001), and area seventy.

Prior to his call to full-time church service, Curtis was a lawyer with Manning Curtis Bradshaw & Bednar.

As a general authority, he previously served in the Africa West Area, living in Accra, Ghana, and overseeing the church operations in approximately ten West African nations.[citation needed] He was later in an area presidency in Utah and participated in the dedication of the Cedar City Utah Temple.[1] He overseen the production team for the Book of Mormon videos produced by the church.[2]

During his term as Church Historian and Recorder, the publication of the Saints series has been proceeding,[3] along with planned revisions of historical sites in Palmyra, New York and Nauvoo, Illinois.[4][5][6]
