Lea Vivier is a South African actress.[1] She is best known for her roles in the popular serials Binnelanders, Mense Mense and the film Wonderlust.[2]

Personal life[]

She was born in Cape Town, South Africa as one of four children of the family. Her mother was Adri Troskie was a drama teacher. After her matric year, at Jan van Riebeeck High School, she went to Chile and spoke Spanish fluently within six months.[3] After her return to South Africa, she studied drama at the University of Cape Town but did not complete her qualification. However, she completed her degree at Rhodes University, Grahamstown with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Dramatic Arts in 2015. Then she completed her Grade 8 Speech and Drama training at Trinity College London.[4]

Her elder sister, Trix Vivier is also an actress, known for her role in Deon Meyer’s novel series Trackers in 2019.[4]

Career[]

She also appeared in the short film Runner, where she played the role 'Louisa' in which she won the award for the Best Actress in a Short Film for Runner at the Five Continents International Film Festival Award. Then she won the Silver Screen Award for the Best Actress for the film Wonderlust.[2] In 2019 she acted in the film Die Spreeus and then 2018 film Fynskrif.[4]

Apart from cinema, she joined with several television serials such as Binnelanders, where she plays as 'Lika' in 2017. Meanwhile, she acted in the serials Die Kasteel as 'Jade', Die Spreeus as 'Emmie', Fynskrif as Lilani du Toit', The Docket, The Girl from St Agnes as 'Amy'.[4] In 2018, she appeared in the television serial Mense Mense and played the lead role 'Salomé'.[2]
