Lea Whitford is a Democratic member of the Montana House of Representatives who currently represents the 16th District. She defeated former representative Lila Evans in 2012 by a margin of 1,823 to 935.[2]

She is a member of the Blackfeet Nation, and lives on a ranch in Cut Bank, Montana.[1] She has taught at Blackfeet Community College and Browning High School in Browning, Montana.[1]

On 10 January 2014, Whitford announced she would run in 2014 for Montana Senate, in the District 8 seat currently represented by Shannon Augare.[3]
