Leanira

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Greek mythology, Leanira or Leaneira (Ancient Greek: Λεανείρας), also known as Laodamia[1], was a Spartan princess as the daughter King Amyclas[2] and possibly Diomede, daughter of Lapithes. Through this parentage, she was considered the sister of Argalus,[3] Cynortes,[4] Hyacinthus,[5] Polyboea,[6] Hegesandra[7] and, in other versions, of Daphne.[8]

Later on, Leaneira became an Arcadian queen after marrying King Arcas, son of Callisto and Zeus. The couple had children including: Elatus, Apheidas,[2] Azan[9][10] and Triphylus[11]. The former two sons divided Arcadia after the demise of their father.
