Lebanon Hanover are a British-German dark wave duo formed in 2010 by Swiss Larissa Iceglass from Germany and William Maybelline from Britain.[1] The debut album La Fete Triste was released in 2011. The duo first gained attention with their 2012 album, The World Is Getting Colder, via . British music magazine Terrorizer named Lebanon Hanover "the best British band you didn't know existed."[2]

The band's name, Lebanon Hanover, comes from two neighboring towns (Lebanon and Hanover) in New Hampshire, United States.[3]

Style[]

Lebanon Hanover's music have been compared to 80s gothic rock/post-punk acts such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure and Bauhaus. The band has a minimal, dark sound.[4] Their songs have a signature light synth sounds, deep bass and melancholic lyrics.[5]

William Maybelline is responsible for the rhythm, synthesizer and bass, which add to the music like an ordered frame, while contributing with more chaotic fragments. As a common conceptual idea, it simply describes simple production, which is based on the desire to generate an organic sound as possible.[6]
