The Leitrim Way is a 27 km (17 mi) long-distance trail between Leitrim village, County Leitrim and Dowra, County Cavan.[1] It joins the Cavan Way at Dowra, continuing the Beara-Breifne Way, a walking and cycling route between the Beara Peninsula, County Cork and Blacklion, County Cavan, following the line of Donal Cam O'Sullivan Beare’s march of 1602.[2]
In 2019, the Leitrim Way was upgraded by local community groups, Leitrim County Council and the Beara Breifne Way committee and reopened to walkers.[citation needed]
