Lipi Singh is a 2016 Batch IPS officer of Bihar Cadre currently serving as the Superintendent of Police in Saharsa District of Bihar . She became popular after her actions taken as a police officer against the Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly Anant Singh following the recovery of rifles, cartridges and bombs from his ancestral house.^[1][2]

Personal Life[]

Lipi Singh hails from Nalanda District in Bihar. She is the daughter of Ramchandra Prasad Singh,^[3] Union Minister for steel Govt of India^[4] She completed her schooling from DPS RK Puram. Did her graduation in History from Lady Shri Ram College where she was the University Topper. She completed her LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi Faculty of Law, Delhi University. She is married to Suharsha Bhagat, an IAS officer of Bihar cadre.

Police career[]

During her posting as Additional Superintendent of Police Barh in Patna District, Lipi Singh took action against many hard core criminals and more than 850 criminals were arrested during her tenure. Hundreds of arms were also recovered. ^{[5] [6]}She used to lead the police operations herself from the front. Besides action against criminals acted against Liquor Mafia^[7] and Sand Mafia^[8] also. She had arrested one Mukhiya in Ghoswari Police station area who was involved in making illegal liquor and he used to give patronage to the illegal liquor traders. She has taken hard steps and conducted more than 20 raids against Sand Mafia from Bakhtiyarpur to Mokama. More than hundred vehicles ware seized in a single day in Hathidah Police station area. Sand Mafia used to conduct illegal sand Mining in Ganga river and being ASP Barh she has taken hard steps against sand mafia. Later she was posted as Superintendent of Police Munger. During her posting as SP Munger she has acted against illegal arms manufacturers.^[9] From Munger Diyara to hard naxal areas of Munger were on the priority list and she had taken again action against arms smuggling. After her posting as Saharsa SP, police arrested many hard core criminals.^[10] On 25th November Saharsa police arrested 5 criminals after an encounter in town area. She was the first senior officer to reach the spot after the encounter took place.
