Lisa Murphy (born March 23, 1971) is an American news anchor who co-hosted Street Smart on Bloomberg Television in New York.

Career[]

She began her career on Wall Street, working for such firms as Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, Citigroup, & JP Morgan Chase. Citicorp provided her the opportunity to gain experience as a fixed income researcher & eventually within 3 years she began trading their adjustable-rate mortgage-backed securities portfolio. Lisa also served as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Citigroup's Global Wealth Management Group. JP Morgan Chase gave her the opportunity to work in the credit derivatives, bond trading, & private banking sector. She also structured mortgage-backed securities at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. Her Wall Street career extended for 15 years. She was the Co-Anchor of WNYW'S Fox 5 Good Day Wake Up from 4:30-10 a.m. with Heather Nauert. She also was a fill-in anchor on Good Day New York. Murphy joined WNYW Fox 5 station as a business reporter in 2007. She left Bloomberg News in April 2012.[1]

Personal life[]

Lisa Murphy completed her undergraduate work at Rutgers University earning a BA and graduated from Columbia Business School with an MBA in 1999. She is married to celebrity dentist Dr. Michael Apa and lives in New York City with her 2 children.
