List of Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council

The Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council presides over the proceedings of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council in the absence of the deputy Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. The Chairman is elected internally by the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.[1]

Eligibility[]

Eligibility criteria to become the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council is:

  1. He or she must be a citizen of India;
  2. He or she must not be less than 25 years of age; and
  3. He or she should not hold any office of profit under the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
