1 | "Into the Sky Where Cherry Blossoms Flutter" Transcription: "Sakura Mau Sora ni" (Japanese: 桜舞うソラに) | Katsushi Sakurabi | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | April 11, 2021[c] | August 26, 2021
A human boy named Shiki[b] is raised by the mechanical "Demon King" Ziggy at the Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned theme park operated by robots. When Shiki is older and Ziggy has broken down, the park is visited by Rebecca Bluegarden and Happy, two content creators who record online B-Cube videos. Shiki disturbs Rebecca with unprompted attempts at befriending her, but she warms to him upon witnessing his friendship with the other robots. The next morning, the robots become hostile towards Shiki and Rebecca, seemingly influenced by a virus to rebel against humans for deserting them. Shiki is too distraught to fight back until Rebecca cries in sympathy for him, which motivates him to use his gravity Ether Gear ability to defend her and defeat the castellan robot leading the rebellion. Accepting Shiki's friendship, Rebecca helps him escape on her and Happy's spaceship, the Aqua Wing, revealing themselves to be from another planet in the Sakura Cosmos. The robots break down from old age shortly afterwards, having staged their infection to save Shiki from solitude on their own planet, Granbell. Shiki's departure is observed by an entity called Mother, who ponders over his future.
2 | "A Girl and Her Blue Cat" Transcription: "Shōjo to Ao Neko" (Japanese: 少女と青猫) | Yoshihiro Mori | Mitsutaka Hirota | Yūshi Suzuki | April 18, 2021[c] | August 26, 2021
Rebecca and Happy take Shiki to the planet Blue Garden to register him into Shooting Starlight, an adventurers' guild, to serve as their bodyguard. Shortly upon arrival, Shiki recognizes a hologram of Mother, who is regarded as a goddess that exists beyond the Sakura Cosmos; the guild ridicules him when he expresses his belief that he has seen Mother before, despite Shiki seemingly living on Granbell his entire life. After Rebecca takes Shiki outside in embarrassment, Happy is captured by a member of a street gang. While Shiki battles the gang, Happy reunites with Rebecca and transforms into a pair of blasters that she uses to defeat the gang's leader, revealing that Happy was given a mechanical body to survive a traffic accident from Rebecca's childhood. Meanwhile, the space pirate Elsie Crimson learns of Shiki's arrival on Blue Garden and prepares to follow him.
3 | "Adventurers" Transcription: "Bōkensha-tachi" (Japanese: 冒険者たち) | Tsuneo Tominaga | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | April 25, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Shiki returns to Shooting Starlight to complete his registration, but continues to be belittled by most of the guild members; Rebecca is treated similarly by her guildmate Labilia Christy, a more popular B-Cuber. Disillusioned with the guild, Shiki proposes that he and his friends embark on their own adventure by finding Mother to record a video of her. The three travel to the planet Norma to obtain a more spaceworthy ship from Professor Weisz Steiner, Rebecca and Happy's benefactor; they are missed by Elsie, who identifies Norma as a dead planet. Upon arriving in Weisz's house, the three are held at gunpoint by an unfamiliar young man using the professor's name. In a flash-forward 20,000 years in the future, two astronauts investigating a barren world discover a pair of human remains along with Rebecca's recording device, which is inscribed with the words "Edens Zero".
4 | "A Man Named Weisz" Transcription: "Waizu to Iu Otoko" (Japanese: ワイズという男) | Kazuma Satō | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | May 2, 2021 | August 26, 2021
At Weisz's house, the stranger escapes from an ambush arranged by the crime boss Sibir, whose gang the stranger has deserted. Rebecca later deduces that her group has traveled fifty years back in time, with the stranger being Weisz's past self. After encountering Weisz again while hiding from Sibir, Shiki accidentally opens a briefcase that Weisz has stolen from the gang, believed by Weisz to contain money. Instead, the briefcase houses a small android inside named E.M. Pino, who possesses an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that disables machinery and Ether Gear. Suffering from memory damage, Pino identifies Sibir as her new master and fearfully returns to him, leaving behind a B-Cube recording that reveals Sibir mistreating her and erasing her memory of her previous master. Learning from Pino's maintenance log that she comes from the present era, Shiki and his friends agree to rescue her to stop Sibir from altering history with her technology.
5 | "Clash!! The Sibir Family" Transcription: "Gekitotsu!! Shibiru Famirī" (Japanese: 激突!!シビルファミリー) | Katsushi Sakurabi | Mitsutaka Hirota | Yūshi Suzuki | May 9, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Shiki arrives at Sibir's base with his group and defeats most of the gang members, but Weisz hijacks their motorcycle and escapes with Pino. During the ensuing confrontation with Sibir and his Knight Gear mech, Shiki witnesses the death of a robot resembling his friend Michael from Granbell in Sibir's basement, where countless other identical robots have been scrapped by Sibir. Shiki is enraged by Sibir's cruelty towards robots and defeats him, which inspires Pino to disable the Knight Gear's self-destruct mechanism, saving Shiki while Weisz incapacitates Sibir. Meanwhile, Elsie approaches Norma, with her ship's interior now covered in an organic growth.
6 | "The Skull Fairy" Transcription: "Sukaru Fearī-gō" (Japanese: スカルフェアリー号) | Tsuneo Tominaga | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | May 16, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Shiki's group and Pino attempt to leave Norma to have Pino's memory repaired, but the Aqua Wing is blocked by an energy field surrounding Norma. Weisz, who has stowed aboard the ship to evade the police, uses his "Machina Maker" Ether Gear to modify the ship to bypass the field into outer space. The group is contacted by the present-day Weisz, who reveals that Norma's time was consumed by a space monster called a Chronophage, creating an alternate history along with the young Weisz. The Aqua Wing is suddenly captured by Elsie and brought aboard her ship, the Skull Fairy. Threatened with enslavement on the lawless planet Guilst, Shiki challenges Elsie to a duel over ownership of the Skull Fairy, which is infested with shapeshifting alien parasites. Upon reaching the ship's bridge, Shiki is startled to find a skull-faced Elsie.
7 | "Warship of the Demon King" Transcription: "Maō Senkan" (Japanese: 魔王戦艦) | Yoshihiro Mori | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | May 23, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Shiki struggles against the monstrous Elsie, but after she tauntingly reveals Ziggy's failed dream of finding Mother, Shiki's excitement over being able to fulfill Ziggy's dream allows him to assume a more powerful form and defeat her. "Elsie" then changes into a small alien creature, revealing her to be a parasite mimicking Elsie's form. The real Elsie congratulates Shiki from a nearby fleet and rewards him with the ship, having been entrusted by Ziggy to deliver it to Shiki to begin with. Engaged in a battle with the Interstellar Union Army, Elsie provides cover for Shiki's group as Weisz thoughtlessly activates the ship's warp drive and sends them near Blue Garden. While the group cleans and explores the ship, Shiki unwittingly activates an android built by Ziggy named Witch Regret, who reverts the ship to its original form, the warship Edens Zero.
8 | "Wind Howls on the Highway" Transcription: "Kaze no Naku Haiwei" (Japanese: 風の鳴くハイウェイ) | Kazuma Satō | Mitsutaka Hirota | Yūshi Suzuki | May 30, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Witch advises Shiki's group to gather the Demon King's Four Shining Stars, her group of fellow androids, to ensure Edens Zero''s passage through Dragonfall, a dragon swarm that borders the Sakura Cosmos. After Weisz leaves them, Shiki's group visits Shooting Starlight for information on Sister Ivry, one of the three missing androids. While exploring the city, Shiki and Pino stumble upon Labilia as she is nearly abducted by Jinn, a cyborg and wind Ether Gear user who works for Sister. Shiki and Jinn battle each other until Jinn receives orders to retreat, inviting Shiki to a rematch on Guilst. Back at the guild, Shiki and Pino learn from a damaged Happy and a news broadcast that several B-Cubers have been abducted, including Rebecca. Realizing Jinn's involvement, Shiki's group prepares to disembark to Guilst, overheard by a kimono-wearing girl who is familiar with Edens Zero.
9 | "Planet Guilst" Transcription: "Wakusei Girusuto" (Japanese: 惑星ギルスト) | Kiyoshi Murayama | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | June 6, 2021[d] | August 26, 2021
Rebecca and the other captured B-Cubers are delivered to Guilst by Rogue Out, Jinn's mercenary squad led by Sister. Rogue Out's patron Illega, a collector of petrified women, prepares the B-Cubers for petrification by flooding their cell with a foam that dissolves their clothing. Meanwhile, Weisz returns to Edens Zero with the kimono-wearing girl, Homura Kōgetsu, whom he encountered after wandering into Shooting Starlight at the time of the kidnapping report. Homura offers to help the crew save Rebecca, having agreed to perform a favor for Weisz in exchange for access to the ship so she may later duel the Demon King, Shiki; she also reveals herself to possess an Ether Gear that Witch recognizes. On Guilst, Shiki and his team enter Rogue Out's headquarters and are confronted by Sister.
10 | "The Great Naked Escape" Transcription: "Hadaka no Dasshutsu Sakusen" (Japanese: 裸の脱出作戦) | Yoshiaki Iwasaki | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | June 13, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Homura uses her "Soul Blade" Ether Gear to defeat Sister's android soldiers, allowing Shiki and Pino to stow beneath Sister's ship as she disembarks to Illega's tower. Weisz becomes suspicious of Homura and threatens her by shooting Mosco Versa-0, an intervening Rogue Out member, with a battery of turrets. Meanwhile, Rebecca rallies the other B-Cubers to form a human pyramid and help her reach their cell's elevated glass window, using the clothes-dissolving foam to escape. Illega quickly corners Rebecca, but Shiki finds them and violently assails Illega until Pino calms Shiki by using her EMP to deactivate his Ether Gear, which also unlocks the B-Cubers' cell. Jinn locates Shiki, who fends him off as Pino leads the B-Cubers to safety. Aboard Edens Zero, Witch detects the Chronophage approaching Guilst.
11 | "Sister Ivry" Transcription: "Shisutā Ivurii" (Japanese: シスター・イヴリィ) | Yoshihiro Mori | Megumu Sasano | Shinji Ishihira | June 20, 2021 | August 26, 2021
Jinn is approached by Sister and her minion Ganoff during his battle with Shiki, who challenges all three at once. As this happens, Homura finds a second android named Sister captive beneath Rogue Out's headquarters, and convinces Weisz to release the android. After Shiki defeats the Rogue Out trio, the second Sister exposes their leader as an imposter who kept her imprisoned for ten years to harness her healing powers. Sister revives Illega's petrified victims before joining Shiki's group to escape from Guilst, which is in the middle of a planetary evacuation from the Chronophage. Jinn kills the imposter, accusing her of falsely promising to save his younger sister, Kleene. Meanwhile, Rebecca subdues Illega to rescue a B-Cuber who has fallen behind during their escape. Following the revival of Illega's victims, Rebecca allows them to evacuate with the other B-Cubers while she waits for Shiki, with ten minutes remaining until the Chronophage's arrival.
12 | "New Friends" Transcription: "Arata na Nakama-tachi" (Japanese: 新たな間たち) | Hiroaki Takagi | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | June 27, 2021[e] | August 26, 2021
Shiki reunites with Rebecca and Pino in the chaos surrounding the Chronophage's approach, using his gravity to drop his group directly onto Edens Zero to escape. The Chronophage consumes 1,200 years of Guilst's time, killing most of the planet's population while restoring its pristine nature; among those who escape is Drakken Joe of the Oración Seis Galáctica, a group of intergalactic outlaws. Aboard Edens Zero, Homura reveals herself to be a pupil of Valkyrie Yuna, one of the Four Shining Stars, for whom she has been searching. Homura and Weisz are accepted as permanent crew members, as is a reprogrammed Mosco, who is revealed to be from the ship's original crew. The crew later learn from Shooting Starlight receptionist Clarisse Layer that Rebecca has become a minor celebrity on Blue Garden for her heroism in helping the other B-Cubers. Advised against revisiting Blue Garden to avoid the overwhelming attention, the crew follow Sister's intuition to visit the monument Iron Hill orbiting the planet, where they immediately find another of the Four Shining Stars, Hermit Mio.
13 | "The Super Virtual Planet" Transcription: "Chōkasō Wakusei" (Japanese: 超仮想惑星) | Katsushi Sakurabi | Mitsutaka Hirota | Yūshi Suzuki | July 4, 2021[f] | TBA
The Edens Zero crew learn that Hermit is in a catatonic state caused by psychological trauma. Witch determines that Hermit's mind is secluded within Digitalis, a virtual planet and server for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Rogue Fantasia. Shiki and his team enter the game by uploading their consciousness into digital avatars, warned by Witch that any injuries and death they sustain in the virtual world will affect their physical bodies. After tnterrogating the game's sentient non-player characters (NPCs), the team learns from a friendly event boss that Hermit lives in isolation near a city that has been attacked by Jamilov, a player notorious for killing NPCs and other players without being banned from the game. The team arrives upon the massacre and encounter Jamilov, who boasts his affiliation with Drakken Joe. Meanwhile, Hermit mulls over her feelings towards humans, whom she concludes lack hearts.
14 | "The Girl on the Hill" Transcription: "Oka no Ue no Shōjo" (Japanese: 丘の上の少女) | Kiyotaka Ōhata | Megumu Sasano | Kiyotaka Ōhata | July 11, 2021[f] | TBA
Jamilov proves himself to be invincible when Shiki attacks him to avenge the massacre victims. After Jamilov logs out to attend a meeting with Drakken, Shiki's team reaches Hermit and tries persuading her to return to Edens Zero, but she resists out of hatred for humans. Returning to the city, the team witnesses an oncoming siege of enemy monsters reprogrammed by Jamilov to kill the surviving NPCs. While Shiki rescues Hermit from the monsters, his teammates are assisted by the event boss in protecting the city. Meanwhile, Homura is seemingly revealed to be working against the Edens Zero crew when she allies with Jamilov, intent on joining Drakken's ranks. As Homura openly betrays the team after Shiki returns with Hermit, a second Homura with a different avatar appears and saves Shiki from being killed by the monster army.
15 | "Great Kaiju Shiki" Transcription: "Daikaijū Shiki" (Japanese: 大怪獣シキ) | Yoshihiro Mori | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | July 18, 2021[g] | TBA
The traitor Homura is revealed to be Amira, a shapeshifting spy from the Galactic Intelligence Agency who is investigating Drakken, and flees after failing to kill the real Homura. Meanwhile, Shiki remains unable to harm Jamilov, who uses cheats to gain several advantages in the game. Hermit begrudgingly helps Shiki and makes Jamilov vulnerable with her own cheats, using the willing Weisz's account to avoid getting banned. Driven to frustration, Jamilov enters a computer code that begins deleting the game world and its characters; Hermit is initially indifferent towards the NPCs, but is swayed to undo the code when Shiki declares them to be living beings. After Jamilov is defeated, Hermit agrees to temporarily exit the game, but continues to isolate herself. Edens Zero's computer systems are then hacked by Jamilov's real-world persona, Spider, who gains full control over the ship.
16 | "Fireworks" Transcription: "Hanabi" (Japanese: 花火) | Kazuma Satō | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | July 25, 2021[f] | TBA
Spider begins destroying Edens Zero from within, with only Hermit capable of restoring the ship's security systems. However, Hermit wishes for the crew to evacuate without her, reflecting on the events that alienated her towards humans. In a flashback fifteen years in the past, Hermit seeks to befriend the human Dr. Müller and his research team, whom she assists in developing a machine to provide energy to the dying robot planet Hook. To her horror, the machine's energy obliterates Hook along with her robotic colleagues stationed there while Müller and the others celebrate, revealing that they engineered the disaster as an act of contempt towards robots. Müller conducts torturous experiments on Hermit for the next two years until he and his team are arrested, leaving the emotionally broken Hermit to distance herself from all human contact. Back in the present, Hermit realizes that she still desires friendship with humans when Shiki and his team refuse to abandon her despite her protests. Encouraged by Shiki, Hermit chooses to be their friend and saves the ship, humiliating Spider in the process.
17 | "The Temple of Knowledge" Transcription: "Chishiki no Kyūden" (Japanese: 知識の宮殿) | Yoshiyuki Nogami | Megumu Sasano | Kiyoko Sayama | August 1, 2021[f] | TBA
Hermit reintegrates into the Four Shining Stars, leaving the crew uncertain of Valkyrie's whereabouts. After Sister voices her suspicions of Shooting Starlight guild master Noah Glenfield, whom she believes to be connected to the events on Guilst, the crew travel to the planet Mildian to consult an omniscient fortune-teller who lives there. During the trip, Homura reluctantly models a custom bunny girl uniform for Weisz as part of her favor to him, which leads to the entire crew crafting their own costumes for recreation. On Mildian, Shiki and his friends meet the fortune-teller, Xiaomei, who sends them to a battle coliseum within her temple for compensation. Meanwhile, Spider seeks for Drakken to retaliate against the crew, but Drakken has him executed for his incompetence. Believing he can profit off of Edens Zero, Drakken contacts Noah for information on the ship.
18 | "Words Will Give You Strength" Transcription: "Kotoba wa Tsuyosa o Ataeru" (Japanese: 言葉は強さを与える) | Tsuneo Tominaga | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | August 8, 2021[h] | TBA
Xiaomei challenges each member of Shiki's group to a series of duels to indulge her obsession with watching battles, as she has restricted her powers to prevent herself from foreseeing their outcomes. Shiki immediately defeats the first opponent, a metallic warrior, with a single punch; Rebecca wins the second match against a B-Cuber who uses a bullet-resistant force field, which she easily bypasses with an ordinary kick; and Weisz exploits a loophole in the rules to use Pino's EMP against the third opponent, an Ether Gear user with superhuman speed. For the final match, Homura is pit against a supposed replica of Valkyrie, whom she discovers to actually be a training robot programmed by Xiaomei to act the part after defeating her. Satisfied, Xiaomei reveals the real Valkyrie to be on the planet Sun Jewel, and warns the crew of future confrontations against others who seek Mother.
19 | "From the Planet of Eternity" Transcription: "Eiei Mukyū no Hoshi yori" (Japanese: 永永無窮の星より) | Yoshiaki Iwasaki | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | August 15, 2021 | TBA
The crew anticipate a three-day voyage to Sun Jewel to avoid a hazardous debris field near the planet. En route, they rescue a shipwrecked space captain named Connor from a passing school of Aoi Cosmos fish. Connor quickly exhausts the crew's hospitality with his intrusive behavior and poor manners, but when the crew confront him for unauthorized piloting of Edens Zero, they find that he has safely brought them to Sun Jewel through the debris field within the first day of the voyage; he continues to remain aboard the ship afterwards, withholding the name of his original ship, Edens One. While investigating Sun Jewel, Shiki and Homura thwart a casino robbery, which leads to the robbers' public execution by Madame Kurenai, the planet's ruler and an associate of Drakken, with a laser-mounted satellite called Satellite Blaze. For their use of violence against the robbers, Shiki and Homura are also branded as criminals by Madame Kurenai's emissaries, who fire the same laser on them.
20 | "Stones" Transcription: "Sutōnzu" (Japanese: 鉱石生命体) | Yoshihiro Mori | Megumu Sasano | Yūshi Suzuki | August 29, 2021[d] | TBA
Shiki and Homura are transported to Sun Jewel's labor district, where they are sentenced to harvest precious metals from alien monsters called Stones. The two quickly run afoul of Madame Kurenai's henchman Garrot, the district's cruel warden, who lashes Homura and takes her away. Ignoring Garrot's threats against the other laborers, Shiki confronts him to rescue Homura. In the rich sector, a visiting Labilia offers to help Rebecca's group enter the labor district in exchange for a B-Cube collaboration, seemingly wanting to repay Shiki for rescuing her from Jinn. However, the video is revealed to be a malicious prank on Rebecca when Labilia publicly gunges her and reneges her promise. Rebecca gains the sympathy of a fellow B-Cuber named Nino, who offers to guide her to the labor district himself.
21 | "Reset" Transcription: "Risetto" (Japanese: リセット) | Kiyoshi Murayama | Mitsutaka Hirota | Toshinori Watanabe | September 5, 2021[d] | TBA
Shiki and Homura learn from Garrot that Valkyrie is renowned in the labor district, but he refuses to elaborate and transports them to the den of the Black Rock, Sun Jewel's most powerful Stone. Meanwhile, Nino reveals himself to be a benign agent of Madame Kurenai and allows Rebbeca's group to access the labor district. The group encounters a disciple of Valkyrie named Paul, who possesses a B-Cube that contains the truth of Valkyrie's circumstances, which he is hesitant to reveal to Homura. Guided by Paul, Rebecca's group reunites with Shiki and Homura and helps them defeat the Black Rock, which fulfills the quota of metals displayed on the pair's slave collars, only for the quotas to be immediately reset to their original value. Convinced of Homura's resolve, Paul uses his thievery-based Ether Gear to remove the collars and gives her the B-Cube. In the rich sector, Kurenai prepares to use her satellite to eradicate the labor district to stop an impending uprising among Valkyrie's followers.
22 | "My Mother, the Machine" Transcription: "Kikai no Haha" (Japanese: 機械の母) | Kazuma Satō | Mitsutaka Hirota | Shinji Ishihira | September 12, 2021 | TBA
In a flashback ten years in the past, Valkyrie raises an orphaned Homura on the planet Oedo, where their relationship faces disapproval from natives who are prejudiced against machines. Five years into her training, Homura is formally reprimanded for attacking a magistrate's son in Valkyrie's defense. The magistrate convinces Valkyrie that Homura needs her biological mother, who is revealed to be Kurenai. Finding Kurenai enslaved at Sun Jewel's labor district, Valkyrie takes her place in debt so that Kurenai may reunite with Homura. Two years later, Valkyrie learns that Kurenai has since remained on Sun Jewel and usurped the planet's previous ruler, having originally abandoned Homura. After Kurenai provokes a horde of Stones into attacking the district, Valkyrie perishes slaying the horde to defend the other laborers. Back in the present, Homura finds her teacher's remains and is devastated when Pino confirms that Valkyrie is beyond repair. Shiki consoles Homura and leaves her to grieve while he confronts Kurenai, resolving to bring her to Homura for judgement in Valkyrie's stead.
23 | "Until the Day It Turns to Strength" Transcription: "Itsuka Tsuyosa ni Kawaru Made" (Japanese: いつか強さに変わるまで) | Yūshi Suzuki Yūsuke Onoda | Megumu Sasano | Toshinori Watanabe | September 19, 2021 | TBA
During Shiki's battle with Madame Kurenai's forces, Drakken hacks the Satellite Blaze and prepares to take Edens Zero by force. Kurenai sends Garrot, a reluctant Nino, and their companion Baku to end the uprising in the labor district while she battles Shiki with the Kurenai Dragoon, a Knight Gear that resists Shiki's powers. Rebecca aids the laborers in battle without Homura, whom she allows to continue processing Valkyrie's death. Baku's attack on Rebecca is intercepted by Weisz, who has assumed a superhero alter ego named "Arsenal" with a mechanical suit that he modifies with his Ether Gear. Weisz defeats Baku before exhausting the suit's energy, which vanishes and leaves Weisz completely naked.
